  4. It would look bad for Putin to meet someone who resists him and the idea of Siloviki dominance. Putin has never been side to side with someone who actively resists his power. It created an image to the russian people that he is all powerful. He doesnt want his brainwashed people to think he can be resisted, it sort of tarnishes his image.

  14. Based upon the rumors of Putin’s homosexuality, it is more likely that Putin likes Zelensky too much by his standards. The world would be better off if Putin would just come out of that closet rather than killing so many people because he is so miserably unhappy remaining hidden.

  23. no because its going to be awkward as fuck cuz putin doesnt have any excuses for the atrocities committed by the russian forces. Putin also is not very good speaker he’s never debated, he’s never been in a heated argument that’s publicized. Zelensky can be rock solid in the room and win any discussion.

  26. Putin calls Zelensky a nazi and an illegitimate leader of Ukraine (which really shouldn’t be a country, according to him), so meeting with Zelensky is very problematic for him. It would also put him in a position where he would have to bring something to the table. He can’t really do that. It could mean the end of the war which paradoxically is both Putins bane and life blood.

  29. Putin doesn’t like Zelensky as he didn’t immediately roll over and capitulate. How dare he stand up to the Russian forces, stopping them from capturing Ukraine and murdering its citizens.

  32. Putin meeting with Zelenskyy as an equal would destroy the entire narrative he’s been promoting in Russia for years now. The entire “special military operation” was justified on the notion that the Ukrainian government is illegitimate, and therefore so was Ukraine’s sovereignty itself. Putin meeting with Ukraine himself would basically be acknowledging that this is a lie, therefore I don’t expect to see Putin and Zelenskyy meeting, or even conversing directly, before they die. Any sort of “negotiated peace” will happen via guys like Lavrov and Medvedev, not the big man himself. Frankly speaking the idea that Russia wants peace is a total fantasy in itself; the west needs to arm Ukraine to the teeth if they actually want to end the war.
