I can’t believe that Switzerland still doesn’t do this already. It made 2021 particularly hard.
My soon-to-be ex company loves this because they have locations/manufacturing plants in two different cantons and plans early every year how to divide the holidays as often as possible between each canton so they don’t disrupt their money making.
I wonder how this would go because I bet the companies would fight this so hard or if they give this then something will need to be given as a deal for them to accept this.
Eh, idk. It‘s a little hypocritical anyway since the amount of people who actually celebrate these holidays as intended are extremely low and we‘re pushing towards less religious influence in every other aspect of life
It’s about time.
C’est bientôt temps.
I am part of Union and I support them BUT I am still pissed at them not supporting universal basic income. Fighting for a few days a year is a fight of the past. Have a vison for fuck sack
This is one of the only things that was better abroad, I couldn’t understand what an observed holiday was at first
A truly pressing issue lol
Finally. It’s absurd how many days off we lost this and last year.
I am getting compensated for Christmas day and labour day this year. I can take time off anytime to compensate.
We didn’t want the 6 weeks vacation, we probably are also against this compensation. Swiss love to work..
Literally like the one thing that the US does better for employees 😂
Maybe the wrong place to ask, but what union would i join as an employee in IT (some software development, some “consulting”)? I’m aware that IT employees in general (and myself included) have decent work contracts (decent salary, benefits etc.), however I’d still like to show solidarity and be “prepared” for the future by joining a union if one is actually standing for IT employees or at least office workers.
My boss said the other day if we do this with bank holidays his profits will drop more than 0% which is catastrophic for the economy at large.

So looks like that’s a no from him.
