How is this green belt? It’s a greenfield site, sure, but in what universe is a site surrounded by buildings a mile from the city centre “green belt”?
Looking at the overhead view – https://www.google.com/maps/@52.6041769,-1.9701407,905m/data=!3m1!1e3 – while obviously it’s never going to sound ideal to build on greenbelt, this particular patch does stay more or less surrounded to the north, east, and south by green areas (okay, the bit to the south is a cemetery, but still grassy).
And when it’s rough ground that’s been a source of ongoing concern to residents because of the anti-social behaviour it’s attracted… it does seem fairly reasonable?
