“In 2025, the specific aspect of these exercises is the fact that their intentions are closely linked to the intentions of the Zapad-2025 joint strategic exercise of the Belarusian and Russian Armed Forces,” the press centre stated.
Speaking at a recent briefing, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, specifically emphasised that the exercises conducted within CSTO are routine, are not directed against third countries and their objective is improving the co-ordination of command and control bodies and troops, as well as maintaining the readiness of forces and assets to perform their designated tasks in the interests of collective security.
