St John's Ambulance statement as teen dies at Belfast Emerge festival
"We wish to make clear that St John Ambulance NI had no involvement in, or association with the event where this fatality reportedly occurred"
The teen died after taking unwell at Emerge.
St John's Ambulance Northern Ireland has confirmed that they had no association with or involvement in providing medical cover at the Emerge Festival, where a teenage girl died after being taken to hospital.
A woman in her 30s remains in a serious but stable condition, and a teenage boy received treatment after also feeling unwell at the event.
In a statement posted on social media, St John's Ambulance NI distanced itself from the event and offered its condolences to the deceased's friends and family.
"The management and volunteers of St John Ambulance NI were deeply saddened to hear of the death of a young female and of two other persons taking ill at a concert in Belfast on Sunday 24th August 2025," they said.
"We wish to make clear that St John Ambulance NI had no involvement in, or association with, the event where this fatality reportedly occurred
"St John Ambulance extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased female
"St John Ambulance has no further comments to make on this statement of sympathy and clarification."
It is understood that medical cover at the festival was provided by a Belfast-based event medical company, who have been contacted for comment.

Has there been accusations of mismanagement on social media and St. Johns Ambulance are trying to distance themselves from it? Or has Belfast Live been doing their usual quality journalism and asked them for a statement when they weren’t involved?
Wondering the reason they’ve released this statement, nevermind Belfast Live publishing it.
“Taking unwell” is one way to put it alright…
This reeks of St John’s ambulance saying slap it up ye for not wanting to pay us to be there
Taking unwell. Is that the new street name for them?
A bit odd the distancing before offering any condolences to the family
Another nice thing we can’t have here is festivals.
Legalise/tolerate this shit so these drug pushing idiots stop putting all the shit in them and so we can get people the education and help they need.
Take away the paramilitaries main source of funding by forcing them to get licences to sell this shit. Creating paper trails that can lead to arrests.
Drugs are demolishing the country and it’s because those bastards operate a pyramid scheme around them encourages cheaper drugs and less responsibility. So much harm and it’s nothing to do with the drugs themselves. It would happen with alcohol if you banned it too. Stop the shortsighted nonsense.
Tbh I don’t know what killed the person mentioned above though. I’m just going off of the comments.
