(WJAR) — Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha is celebrating a victory on Tuesday as a lawsuit he joined as forced the Trump administration to release a significant amount of education funding.

Neronha joined other Attorneys General to compel the Trump administration to release the full amount.

“When we fight back against this Administration, we win,” said Attorney General Neronha in a statement. “Because of our lawsuit and immense public pressure, billions in critical education funding will rightfully be restored to fund a wide range of important educational programs, without which the growth and enrichment of our young people would be stifled.”

The agreement says the funds must be released no later than October 3, 2025.
