SDLP’s Colum Eastwood wants to see end to GAA grounds named after IRA members Tags:ireland 6 comments Roger Casement was never in the IRA Is this the fella who pledges his allegiance to the queen? Wouldn’t you expect the article to give an example or two of grounds named after IRA members, I’m struggling to think of any. I suspect SDLP’s Colum Eastwood wants to see start to UUP transfers to the SDLP on Thursday… Can’t see this gaining any traction. There’s train stations and streets all over the island named after those who fought British brutality. I’m assuming this only applies to the bad Provos not clubs named after glorious bombers like Tom Clarke and O’Donovan Rossa? The SDLPs and Southern Establishments views on the morality of violence are inherently a massive contradiction. Shoot unarmed British policeman in Dublin in 1916 you’re a hero, do that in Derry in 1969 and you’re a terrorist. Leave a ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
