  1. Funny how this is an example of ‘Life imitating
Art’. The plot twist of preventing an ad shot in a house with stolen paintings on the wall from appearing on TV was used in the Monk TV series episode ‘Mr. Monk Takes a Punch’.

  2. “I don’t know what information you want from me, and I don’t know what painting you’re talking about either,” she replied.

anyone thinks she not telling the whole truth?

  3. Portrait of a Lady? More like dude looks like a lady.

  4. He escaped the nazis then died falling through a hole in the ship. That’s bad luck.

  5. Hey look mengele and his entourage did escape Germany to Argentina and beyond.

Fun (apparently discredited but I call bullshit) factoid: candido godoi a town in Brazil bordering Argentina, is known for an incredibly high amount of twins, starting around 1963 with the “facts” stating that an unusually high level of Germans in the neighborhood contributed to high twin birth rate.

It just so happens the twin doctor Joseph mengele also passed through routinely since 1958 and he had a penchant for twins, triplets or quadruplets. Their amount of multiple births is 10X national average and distinctly higher than anywhere else.

Colour me tin foil hat coloured, but a Nazi scientist obsessed with multiples, studied them exclusively with near zero oversight, when trying to escape from his wild studies, fled to Brazil near Argentina border, passed through a town multiple times, but is completely unrelated to their 10X multiples birthrate, and it’s due to them having a higher proportion of Germans in the area…. Nah that’s horseshit he’s still studying.

To further my point, their evidence that this ain’t true is: a local historian said “no he didn’t do science here”

  6. “As a ministerial councilor , Kadgien was one of Adolf Hitler’s most important financial experts and responsible for the realization of Jewish assets”

A piece of shit and it looks like the shit doesn’t fall far from the shit tree.

  7. Thats probably the ugliest lady I’ve ever seen ending up on a painting. It’s like a daughter of Vin Diesel and Elon Musk

  8. Appreciating art made by the people that they didn’t even consider human. Not saying she’s necessarily a nazi, but the hypocrisy is pretty potent.

  9. “The Americans described him as “not a real Nazi, but a snake of the lowest kind” with “large assets, [who] can still be of value to us”, according to information later released from the CIA archives.”

And I was wondering how he escaped …

  10. It’s a small victory to an incredibly horrible part of human history.

  11. Bet if they look at that family wealth , they find more stolen stuff!

  12. I’ve heard there’s a few high level collectors in Nashville from someone who cleans houses years ago.

  13. I have a very different take on all of this. My great aunt purchased a painting in Prague and fled the Nazis with it, but it was written down on some list as having been a known painting whose history disappeared during world War II, and because we had no receipt years later, this painting was stolen from my (Jewish) family. Our painting was on exhibit, both in NYC and then Israel, and basically an Israeli ambassador who was a descendant of the painter laid claim to it as stolen Nazi art. We didn’t have any way to disprove him per se, because the woman who bought it died at 105 years old 20 years ago. So the museum exhibiting it refused to send it back to us and sent it to him instead, and when we dug into the laws, we basically found out that we had zero recourse.

I mean this 100% sincerely, I think at this point anybody still recovering stolen Nazi art should be looked at suspiciously. Much of it is a scam.

  14. So curious: what is the diff between “looted art” and “spoils of war”?

  15. “Stolen or sold under duress” they say. I wonder if any of these guys sold it willingly and now they’re like hey I can get it back for free. Probably not but other ppl might have my criminal mind.

  16. Talk up and down about purging the unworthy but plunder their art and their wealth. Tells ya everything.

  17. Trump seems to be doing quite a lot of “compulsory acquisition “ as well, now that I think of it,especially when it comes to gold medals and sporting trophies. The parallels with Nazi Germany can’t be avoided.

  18. I’m worried she’ll destroy it or hide it again- hopefully they’ll swoop in there quickly to recover the painting

  19. So, why is Argentina still protecting Nazis like 80 years later? Just enjoy all that looted money?

  20. That’s a….*handsome* woman, in an avant-garde kind of way.

  21. wonder how they came in the possession of the painting in the first place..
