CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Authorities are working to contain a leak involving petroleum products in Cedar Rapids.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department responded to a report of a leak at 855 Shaver Road NE, known as Cedar Lake.
Authorities responded with several vehicles including a ladder and a hazmat unit.
Police say a contractor’s pontoon boat had a failure while out on the lake. It is now leaking petroleum products into the Cedar Lake.
CRFD is working to put in booms and mitigate the situation.
