  3. South Korea don’t really have a choice but to fully align with US.

    China and North Korea are both right there and China already supports North Korea so their choice has already been made.

  5. From what I’ve gathered from his comments the title is gonna confuse people but Lee Jae Myung seems to be saying they want to get closer to the US and distance from China

    *Speaking at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C., Lee said, “It is true that Korea has pursued a position of security with the US and economy with China in the past. But we are no longer in a situation where such an attitude is possible.”*

    *“Korea cannot act or make judgments that deviate from the US’ basic policy direction,” he said.*

    *On ties with China, Lee struck a cautious tone, noting that Seoul had to “manage and maintain the inevitable relationship that arises from geographical proximity,” while downplaying speculation that his administration is adopting a pro-Beijing stance.*

    *At the speech, Lee also pledged to increase South Korea’s defense spending against North Korea, saying Seoul will take a “more proactive role” in ensuring the security of the Korean Peninsula.*

  9. That’s pretty much what he has to say in front of a Washington DC audience. How much these pledges turn into actual contracts is yet to be seen.

  13. He means that the US is abandoning all its military agreements so they need to find new allies, invest in defense and almost certainly develop nuclear weapons. This is what happens when an ignorant and stupid orange turd is in change that has no concept of consequences.

  14. Drumph just took credit for making them pay for upkeep of our military there on Monday(even though, that’s been happening since 1991).
