1. Time to build camps and make life shitter for them. The UK can’t cope!!

   Edit: after reflection on this comment, I mean we need to process the claimants faster, make the decisions faster, and make it easier to claim asylum from elsewhere without being invaded from the sea.
   We need to be humane as a nation but also we need to be realistic.
   I retract my comment about making it shitter and would rather use the term less appealing and more appealing to make the claim to asylum legally through the correct method, which should be from anywhere in the world. Process it before they arrive. Those that are not legally entitled should be removed or not able to actually land on UK soil.

3. Literally nothing is working right now to stop the crossings, even if deportations are up it won’t make a difference if the crossings are higher.

4. That is around a 10th of a percent of the population… It doesn’t even begin to classify as a ‘problem’…

5. Why do people forget the 90s.

   This many migrants was roughly equal to the net number of immigrants we had coming in legally at the time.

   52k is such an enormously high number.

   It just looks small because the number of legal migrants entering a year has reached well over 1 million.

   Do people honestly think we need constant net positive migration from now until the end of time?

6. Just end the asylum system already. It wasn’t made for the modern world. 

7. Deterrence is the only answer, as long as people are willing to pay they’ll be someone willing to take them.

8. Just turn the boats around and tell them to fuck off.

9. Starmer doesn’t want to stop the boats, just like the Tory’s didn’t want to stop them either.
