    **Trump’s Popularity Hits Rock Bottom After Eight Months**
    Despite claiming otherwise, Donald Trump’s popularity continues to slide, with approval ratings now lower than those of Joe Biden or Barack Obama.

    Donald Trump’s popularity has hit rock bottom just eight months into his term. In multiple polls, the U.S. president’s approval ratings keep falling, hitting historic lows compared to his predecessors.

    In the latest YouGov poll for *The Economist*, the president’s approval has sunk since the start of his mandate, now standing at -15 net approval (approvals minus disapprovals). Back in February, he stood at +2 points, but the trend has been downward ever since, with worse results than Barack Obama in 2009 (+6 points) or Joe Biden in 2021 (0 points).

    Disapproval has grown alongside a weakening economy, worsening relations with allies over tariffs, the White House’s increasing interference across multiple sectors of society (such as firing a Labor Statistics Agency official after job growth came in below expectations), the illegitimate military occupation of Washington, D.C.’s streets, and his failure to end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.

    This week, Donald Trump argued that his approval was “around 60–70 points,” but the facts tell another story, as more polls show his popularity sinking.

    RealClearPolling points to a nearly 5-point drop, putting his approval at 46% (with 51% disapproval) since the return of “Trump 2.0.”

    Meanwhile, analyst Nate Silver’s aggregator places Trump’s average approval rating at 44%, according to *MSNBC*.

    In turn, Gallup’s July poll recorded Trump’s lowest approval of his presidency at just 37%. Independent voters are abandoning Trump. His immigration policy has only 38% approval, and his handling of the economy just 37%.
