Czech fundraising campaign Weapons for Ukraine today handed over an UH-60A+ BlackHawk Helicopter to Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. Czech republic became the first country whose people raised enough money to buy a helicopter for Ukraine. Ukraine is currently using 3 Black Hawk helicopters.

  1. The helicopter is named Čestmír.
Explanation of the name: Čestmír is an czech first name (pretty rare, not much used). ‘Čest’ means honor, ‘mír’ means peace. There was also an TV show in 80’s about young boy who could fly.

  2. Black Hawk, build by Sikorsky Aircraft, a Lockheed Martin company. Igor Sikorsky was born in Kyiv 1889 and went to USA 1919 and became pioneer of Heli-Aviation in USA with his company. Remarkable historic full circle.

  3. More helicopters, more drones they can shoot out of the sky without using expensive limited missiles.

  4. Nice. Just come home safe please. How I hate Putin with every fiber of my being. I rarely hate but that guy needs to go.
