Greek tanker newcomer Venergy Maritime has doubled its orderbook at K Shipbuilding in South Korea, exercising options for two additional MR product carriers.
The Vyron Vasileiadis-led company confirmed the deal on its website for two 50,000 dwt units, priced at about $48m each and adding to a pair of similar ships ordered at the yard earlier this year. All four tankers are slated for delivery between the first and second quarters of 2027 and will trade as Erietta, Filippos, Paris and Marianna.
Founded in 2021, Venergy only recently took delivery of its first vessels but has been quick to establish a modern fleet. The company made headlines in the secondhand market in April with the purchase of two 2018-built MRs, Captain Nikos and Captain Leon, from Italy’s Premuda for about $75m.
With the newbuilding programme, Venergy’s fleet will rise to six eco-efficient product tankers, all under four years old.
