Norway’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 4.5% in July 2025, from an upwardly revised 5.5% in June, which was the highest level since May 2021.
The number of unemployed persons dropped by 33 thousand from a month earlier to 136 thousand.
Meanwhile, the employment rate ticked down to 69.5% from 70.0%, with the number of employed individuals falling by 19 thousand to 2.898 million.
The labor force participation rate dropped to 72.7% in July from 74.0% in the previous month.
The youth unemployment rate, which measures the number of job-seekers aged 15 to 24, declined to 13.7% from 15.9%.
