Azerbaijan, IMF explore implementation of new intl statistical standards

Azerbaijan has discussed preparations for the implementation of new international statistical standards on balance of payments with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Report informs, citing the Finance Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The discussions took place with the participation of a delegation from the State Treasury Agency at a high-level roundtable on 2025 System of National Accounts (SNA) and 7th edition of International Standards on Balance of Payments (BPM7) organized by the IMF in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The main purpose of the event, held with the participation of international experts, was to prepare for the implementation of new international statistical standards, strengthen inter-country cooperation in this direction, and study advanced international practices.

The meeting included extensive exchange of views on international practices for implementing new statistical standards, effective involvement of stakeholders in the process, planning of resources and infrastructure, as well as developing a data dissemination strategy. The discussions made a significant contribution to deepening the exchange of experience between countries, strengthening national statistical systems, and increasing transparency in international reporting.
