Good Smile Company, Hobby Link Japan Suspend US Shipping

Anyone in the US who typically orders figures or other merchandise from companies like Good Smile Company and Hobby Link Japan will find shipping suspended as a result of the “Termination of De Minimis Treatment for All Countries” executive order from President Donald Trump tied to the tariffs situation. This comes after Japan Post noted it would suspend any mail that didn’t involve standard letters or small parcels designated as gifts and valued under $100. AmiAmi also noted on its main page that, “We will share additional details about how this may affect orders, along with a helpdesk article, as soon as possible.” This all starts on August 27, 2025.

The Good Smile Company statement about suspending service to the US and the state of shipping anime and game figures and merchandise there specifically mentioned Japan post and the Trump executive order. It also noted that it does not know when service will resume. It specifically closed things out with, “We are currently reviewing alternative shipping methods and the prospects for resuming shipments. Once a course of action has been determined, we will provide further updates and resume shipments as soon as possible.”

Likewise, the Hobby Link Japan message also referenced the executive order, tariffs, and the Japan Post decision. It also offered more details on what will happen with orders that can’t be sent out immediately as a result of the suspension and future anime and game figure and merchandise sales. It said it all orders, including current and future ones, will go to “the Private Warehouse with no limitations on storage until a suitable shipping method becomes available again.” It also said it is looking for more options to ensure people can get their items.

Both Good Smile Company and Hobby Link Japan don’t know when their suspension of shipping merchandise to the US will resume.
