Filipino retailer is teaming up with V-Green to roll out chargers across selected service stations nationwide.

Phoenix Petroleum Philippines is making its first major move into the EV charging market, teaming up with V-Green Charging Station Development Philippines to roll out chargers across selected service stations nationwide. The partnership marks a new chapter for one of the country’s leading independent fuel retailers, as it steps into the clean mobility space while continuing to operate its core petroleum business.

Construction of the first three charging sites in Luzon is already underway, with Cebu and Davao next in line. Under the deal, Phoenix will lease forecourt spaces to V-Green, which will install and operate chargers ranging from 20 kW to 250 kW. The companies say the move is aimed at widening charging access for private drivers, VinFast customers, and the growing Green GSM EV taxi fleet that launched earlier this year.

“This is more than just a contract signing—it’s the beginning of a meaningful partnership,” said Kim Ira Cabaccang, General Manager for One Retail at Phoenix Petroleum. “We are proud to work with V-Green to enable more sustainable transport solutions. This move reflects our dual-energy approach, combining traditional fuels with emerging clean technologies to meet the evolving needs of Filipino commuters.”

Echoing this vision, V-Green Philippines CEO Luu Viet Hung said the deal allows the company to reach more communities and build a nationwide charging network to support its EV fleet.

While the Philippines still lags behind other Southeast Asian nations in EV adoption, momentum is building, thanks to government incentives and early players like Ayala and SM, who have introduced chargers in malls and commercial hubs.
