Well this is what the country voted for back in 2016…
> The implementation of a points-based immigration system has opened up half of all jobs in the UK to foreign workers, by lowering salary and skill thresholds for migrants.
It’s almost like our economy is built on exploitation of the working classes, and when there are no Eastern Europeans to exploit the gap is filled by those from outside the EU.
If only someone could have predicted this!
I wonder how the racists who voted for this will feel knowing that we’ll see increasing numbers of non-white migrants now.
This is fantastic news! Immigrants are good for the economy, and I’m grateful for all the nurses especially coming over from the Philippines.
People will downvote me but this is s good thing from Brexit. As a non EU high skilled migrant myself, high pay earner, the rules before Brexit were horrible for any overseas candidate due to the labor market test and other rules.
Now the field is even, if you are smart and outstanding you’ll get the job and a visa independent of your nationality, before you could be a great candidate but they HAD to give the job to an European or face consequences. This had happened to me before.
Problem I have with this is its not reciprocal.
UK citizens lose the rights to easily work and live in 26 other countries whole others get more pathways here.
I feel completely shafted as a citizen.
I’m currently going through the process of getting a visa for another country (due to brexit) and my life has been made no better and things are only harder.
Great for the people wanting to move to the UK but shit for actual UK citizens and there’s very little benefit in these agreements for us instead we just lost pathways
Good. Exactly what I voted for. All immigrants should get a fair chance, not special treatment to predominantly white continental Europeans.
I don’t think people commenting on here quite get the racist threat implied.
This is exactly what I said to all the ding bats who were voting for Brexit to limit immigration.
We need immigration and when European’s don’t want to come, we will make it easier for the rest of the world, and for our racist neighbours, friends and colleagues, there is only one thing they hate more than white immigrants, it’s non-white immigrants.
Fast forward 15 years, we’ll be voting to rejoin the EU to stop immigration.
If immigration didn’t increase, how else would the Tories, after twelve years in power, keep telling their voters, that unless the Tories remain in power, immigration will continue to increase.
That’s cool. As long as its managed and not unfiltered like it was from the EU before. Still small total numbers compared to before.
Cue the complaining from people who were duped into voting for the illegal Brexit campaign.
