  1. Very sad indeed. Although I don’t think the Pope will have any influence, Israel is responding to the attacks that took place on October 7th. They know it will happen again if Hamas and other groups are allowed to get away with this.

  2. Did he demand the release of hostages and that the terrorists surrender?

  3. Huge amounts of aid have entered over the last couple of months. Market prices have dropped to normal levels in recent weeks. Restaurants are reopening and markets are full. I think we’re beyond the stage of crises and we should see these deaths stop. I’m kind of confused as to why any deaths are still happening, but I know prolonged hunger can have implications for the ability to absorb nutrients in the future, so maybe that’s what we’re still seeing.

  5. They should have phrased it “Pope demands end to ‘collective punishment.’” At first glance, it look like he’s demanding collective punishment.
