The right loves the chaos RFK is bringing. So many of them are still angry for having to wear masks a few times during the pandemic and they think Fauci is an evil, money hungry guy who started the pandemic from his research. I know a lot of people who sadly say things like “RFK and Tulsi are the only sane democrats.” They are obviously nuttier than squirrel turds.
How many votes does this need to go forward? What’s the procedure for Congress?

I guess by putting a guy who had a worm eat part of his brain, and whose face looks like a catcher’s mitt that was left in the rain for a year, in charge of our health care reflects that they just want us to die before we can claim Medicare.

A lot of CDC folks were really suspicious of her when she started.
That is partly because she came on as acting in January, was pretty much radio silent through the firing of 1/3 of CDC in April which happened around when she was officially nominated.
She officially joined CDC about 3 weeks ago and was immediately jumping in, meeting with tons of people and walking into meetings to learn what was going on.
Then there was the terrorist attack at CDC.
200+ bullets fired at CDC while people hid under their desks and prayed their kids at the CDC daycare just next to where the shooter was firing from weren’t hurt.
A young police officer with 2 young kids and one on the way, just a few months out of police academy died trying to stop the shooter.
She worked to assure staff she understood their concerns. She put in place a concrete method of doing what could be done to protect the campus. She communicated with people consistently about what was going on.
She showed the staff that maybe she would turn out to be okay.
Her loss as the director is a tragedy of potential for CDC of someone who could have made a real mark there.
Even worse is that 4 of the most senior remaining leaders at CDC resigned along with her to try to show that there is something really dangerous being done.
I hope against hope that someone will wake up and hold people accountable here.
People like miners, kids and just people buying groceries are dying because of what is being done to the agency.
The agency is a shadow of what it was just 6 months ago.
*When* we have another major public health emergency, I don’t know that there will be enough leadership or people there to help prevent a bad situation from becoming catastrophic.
Please get rid of him ASAP.

RFK is a confused person who is being taken advantage of by people who are louder than him.
As a constituent of hers, I’m pretty disappointed, but not particularly surprised, that this is the most high profile response to the Trump administration she’s made so far.
She might as well call for Trump to resign as to call for firing Junior; it’s equally likely to happen.
Patty Murray is 74. I keep hearing that if we just got rid of all the “boomers” it would fix our problems. Is she stopping someone younger for calling for his firing? Meanwhile everyone is hyping Gavin Newsom who is three years away from being a boomer.
So proud of my senator. She has done an excellent job.
