Chicago burglary: Thieves break into business on 71st Street in South Shore, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — Thieves broke into a business in the South Shore neighborhood Thursday morning, Chicago police said.

The burglary took place at about 2:40 a.m. in the 2100-block of East 71st Street.

Officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress and after arriving on the scene, discovered the front entrance was forced open, police said.

Merchandise was taken from the store and investigators said two vehicles fled the scene.

No one is in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
