Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has kept up a steady pace of content additions, and the new reveal of a Year 2 roadmap proves that there’s a lot more to come. The new line-up covers Q4 of 2025 and the first two quarters of 2026, laying out missions, enemies, stratagems, packs, and more that can be expected across that period.

Space Marine 2’s future additions kick off on September 4 with a major anniversary patch that packs in some big updates. While some additions, like cosmetics, will be available through a paid season pass, Space Marine 2 is continuing to add plenty of free gameplay content. Fans of specific Space Marine Chapters also have a lot to look forward to, as nine DLCs will focus on different chapters.

Everything To Expect On September 4

The anniversary patch on September 4 has the longest list of updates, ranging from new playable content to a free armor pack. PvE will receive a new mode called Stratagems and a new mission. The new PvP mode, Hellbrute Onslaught, features a playable Hellbrute, accompanied by a new PvP arena.

The Chaos Spawn, a grotesque and unpredictable mutant, will be joining as a Majoris enemy. To fight back against new threats, Space Marines can use three new weapons. The Power Axe has been confirmed to be part of the Anniversary Update, but the press release doesn’t confirm what the other two will be. It does note the planned addition of the Pyreblaster, Pyrecannon, Xenophase Blade, Combi Melta, and “others,” just not which weapons will come first.

A Chaos armor pack will be available for free, while the second Season Pass will grant access to the Black Templars champion pack and Imperial Fists cosmetic pack. The Black Templars Champion pack will have a Champion skin for the Bulwark class and a Power Sword skin, while the Imperial Fists cosmetic pack will feature over 40 cosmetics based on seven Imperial Fists successor chapters.

Season Pass 2 content continues throughout Patch 11, 12, 13, and 14, with each getting one or two packs related to various chapters. The full list is as follows:

Although it’s not yet clear what the ///REDACTED/// Champion Pack will be, there are a number of options on the table. The Blood Ravens would make sense given the recent reveal of Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 4, but other possibilities like the Grey Knights could also be compelling.

Space Marine 2 champion packs include a champion skin and one weapon skin, with no option to customize the champion armor. Cosmetic packs provide armor cosmetics that can be mixed and matched. Chapter packs are the most extensive, providing everything you’d expect from both champion and cosmetic packs in one bundle.

New Techmarine Class For Space Marine 2

The Technology Experts Are On Their Way

Space Marine 2 is kicking off 2026 with the addition of the Techmarine class, which will be the source of some of the new weapons. Techmarines have greater proficiency with technology than other Space Marine chapters, boasting the necessary skills to repair machines like tanks on the battlefield.

The Techmarine was initially announced alongside the Anniversary Update’s Power Axe, leading some to believe that it would be coming in the same update, but this is the first time we’ve actually gotten a window for the class release. Along with the Techmarine, Patch 12 will include the Omnissiah Axe as a Techmarine weapon.

Everything Else To Expect In Space Marine 2’s Future

2026 will also see the release of the Battle-Barge expansion, a progression update, a new siege map, new PvP arenas, and more. In Patch 13, a new Terminus enemy will be introduced, and Patch 15 will bring a new Siege Map. Throughout both 2025 and 2026, Space Marine 2 will be releasing new PvE operations, with one slated for Patch 10, 11, 12, and 13, respectively.

PvP players will benefit from the addition of new PvP stratagems that provide gameplay modifiers. For example, a stratagem highlighted in the roadmap trailer features “Suboptimal State,” which reduces maximum health, and “These Souls are Dark,” a Dark Souls reference that makes parries stronger but shrinks the parry window.

More details should continue to come out about all of Space Marine 2’s planned additions, many of which remain relatively vague at the moment. The roadmap trailer promises further looks at the upcoming chapter cosmetics on social media channels “very, very soon,” but information on future gameplay additions may take longer to come by.

Regardless, the roadmap confirms that a lot is in store for Space Marine 2, and additions like new PvE operations should be exciting for fans who have already worn out the game’s existing content. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has had a celebrated run so far, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be losing that momentum any time soon.
