[It’s why politicians become politicians](https://www.democracynow.org/2025/8/20/trump_profit)! They have indirect access to multi-billion dollar bank accounts with income in perpetuity: Taxes! They get cash kickbacks by awarding closed-door contracts to Contractors who way overbid them, or, the projects are cost-plus, and then they go over-budget; both paradigms work for skimming! (retired general contractor here :-).
