COP26: Germany fails to sign up to 2040 combustion engine phaseout

  1. At least Germany is being honest. The other countries that are signing up for this either naively or intentionally are not being realistic. The combustion engine phaseout is going to be harder and longer than they think it will be.

  2. >There is still a dispute within the caretaker government about so-called e-fuels, which are made from renewable energies. Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer rejected the agreement yesterday evening on the grounds that it doesn’t take synthetic fuels into account.
