If nothing changes before 2028 we are quickly approaching a point where the federal government will be rendered irrelevant as it becomes obvious that it is not being run competently or in the interests of general welfare. This’ll probably be our version of the collapse of the USSR. Why would state and local governments that are still being run like proper administrations simply stand idly by while a regime of party sycophants, white supremacists, and deranged conspiracy theorists with the backing of a compromised Supreme Court render the country deaf, blind, and dumb? Since they are the backbone of the economy blue states and cities are going to move more and more to rely on each other for coordination, support, and leadership while the rest of the country languishes in blind obedience to morons.

The fascinating thing is that RFK jr’s wants to destroy the CDC because of his conspiratorial beliefs while the Project 2025 people want to destroy the CDC to privatize it and then have govt fund corporations (that they all have a stake in) –– different rationale same end result.

Why does everything that’s happening seem frighteningly like something a Manchurian candidate controlled by the Russians would do?
America is not only not prepared anymore for a crisis like a pandemic, but Trump’s administration is staffed with people who are almost guaranteed to cause a crisis. Of course, once there is a crisis Trump will demand dictator-like powers to deal with the crisis, which will make the crisis much, much worse. We have not been this vulnerable as a country for over 200 years.
The entirety of the US gov needs to walk out; the whole thing needs to be ground to a halt.
