Norway's probably the only small country in the world secure enough to withstand trade-ending tariffs from the US. It absolutely needs to start America-proofing its economy
Best to watch from afar when the American bubble bursts.
I hope they do this and we retaliate. We should divest from every US company and refuse their military from training here. Let the whole world kick these fascists out of their countries. Let them become North Korea 2.0.
This is like.. not even in the top 10 of the most unhinged Lindsey Graham statements this week. From starting multiple new wars, encouraging nuclear first strikes, the dissolvement of any international agreements, to specific comments about energy policy in multiple countries.
And they’re all 100% in line with current US foreign policy.
Really, I’m just so very grateful for our greatest ally ever.
But whatever you do, please don’t mason the country inside a brick dome. We would /hate/ that. Do anything but masoning yourselves into a brick dome. Dear gods the Euros would be so mad if the US did that.
Norway is best-positioned to withstand the US’s economic vandalism. Don’t give an inch even if it means halting all US trade. Actively start divesting away from US companies, and begin to culturally view the US as a belligerent bad acting adversary on par with Russia. Oh, and of course expel the Israeli ambassador while you’re at it
so… anyone else want a few trillion dollars?
It is quite disrespectful of Graham to say this when this is a decision based on the fund’s ethical guidelines which are anchored in the parlament by representatives elected by the Norwegian people.
Imagine being a dimwit politician and getting into an argument with a wealth fund that owns > 1.5% of the global stock market. Good luck with that.
Haha brenn i helvete nazi pakk.
the land of corruption…. home of the suckers
Wow, Republicans run their country so well that they have to threaten everyone in the world to make them in business with American companies
Sounds like someone is hurting… keep it up Norway.
Is it some official government dude who wrote the tweet?
Maybe norway should pull out the money have in US companies and see what happens.
Time to play a sad song on my tiny 🎻
Does not surprise me this nonsense comes from this filth mouth. The same dude who said lets nuke Iran. 🤦♂️🤦♀️🤦
I would consider visiting the US, in its current state, a punishment rather than a privilege..
Go fuck yourself.
As a person born in the US who is now a Norwegian citizen…Well, I am eternally grateful for Norway being such an amazing place to live. My number one complaint for far too long was Norway letting its foreign policy being much too influenced by the US.
I am very happy to see Norway has found its backbone and is standing up. We still have democracy here and its still possible for everyday people to live a decent life.
Hope more Norwegians wake up and see that the greatest enemy to Norwegian values is the US. As the US, has divided the people and via that infighting has crushed unions, access to healthcare and education and basically made people to decide on their fears as hope is gone. For a long time I have boycotted as many US products as possible and am proud to say I will never set foot again on that shithole of a country. May the everyday people there rise up and take it back.
Sounds a lot like Medvedev’s tweets
America is not a reliable partner right now, even when interests seemingly align. I’m an American in the U.S., and we can’t even keep straight what nonsense the government is doing day to day other than, whatever it is, it’s probably going to make things worse. Sorry, y’all, but don’t look to us for much right now.
Boycott American businesses🫸 🇺🇸
The US today would rather sell Svalbard to Russia, as it has tried to give Eastern Ukraine to Russia.
Then they have designs for Greenland…
After the election, its time for Norway to join the EU and be covered by art 42.7, as US is proving an adversary. Its also time for EU to stand up.
He should take his fury out on the MSCI global sustainability list. They blacklisted Caterpillar, the pension fund just took its time following their lead.
In all seriousness, it is probably time to quietly reduce the fund’s exposure to the US. Politically, that country is not stable anymore.
I’m looking forward to Nobel prize announcement 🙂
“Doing business with America is a privilege, not a right”. Wow, its like doing business with Norway is a privilege for Americans and not a right. 🙄
I can’t wait until that closet case is out of office and politics for good.
He posted this right before Trump took credit for getting Norway to invest more in the US, creating jobs. You know, since he is the “working man’s” president
I was not expecting to see a 70 year old dude when i googled that name
He’s just pissy because he lost money,m Lindsey Graham is a really weird and horrible person overall lol
For someone who believes in unchecked capitalism, he sure does get upset when Norway invest like they feel like. «People should be free to do as they with wish with their money… as long as it benefits me!»
We hold the line in the arctic, and we have lots of tech and energy. Not to mention our pension-fund, and a diplomat-network to make anyone envious. The US needs influence in spheres we control, so I’m not to worried. Then again, the US is likely a few weeks away from civil war, so we’ll see. Anyhow, we have seen winter and darkness before, we endure, we survive, and we trust that spring will come.
I’m one of those Americans that wishes the US could follow Norway’s example in almost all situations. But then we have this guy…
I’m active in trying to unfuck this country, but — hoo boy — there’s a whole lot of stupid fuckery over here.
