  1. While I strongly disagree with the UK’s overreach in this case, this 4chan “response” is completely detached from reality.

  2. Sounds like Trump and Musk’s rantings were thrown into a bot and cranked this out.

  3. 4chan should just start doing their “Islam is right about women” campaign again but in London instead of this lame legal jargon, it would be more in character

  4. That’s some distilled American stupidity of supreme quality there.

  5. I’m all against any of Europe’s censorship agendas, BUT: Calling the internet “American” is the biggest load of bullshit I’ve ever heard. Wow.

  6. 4chan: foreign regulators/courts have no legal obligations or sway over a US based entity.

Also 4chan: we will sue you in US court because we believe the US legal system has sway over a foreign entity..

  7. I don’t care who does it, but Ofcom needs to be put back in its box.

  8. Seems like the conclusion of this debate might be a Chinese great fire wall styled cyberspace where every country regulates their own internet

  9. 4Chan won’t get anywhere with this. I fully expect we’re going to block them for non-compliance.

Likewise, we aren’t going to get them to pay any fines. We need a site like Wikapedia to pull out of the UK to make people look at this law again.

  10. ITT: cretins so lost in anti-US fervour that they are openly supporting some of the most invasive privacy overreach in modern history, over a company trying to litigate against it, due to pro-US stance in the writing. USA and 4chan may both be trash, but that does not mean we are now supporting the complete degradation of online privacy just for petty recompense.

  11. It’s crazy to me how much Europeans detest Americans that they’d embrace having big brother watch their chat logs with their discord kittens just to own the American “chuds”. I think this response is hilarious and will 100% piss off the people it’s meant to piss off

  12. I’m hoping 4chan wins only because that means there could be a chance that the Online Safety Act gets repealed. No more, no less.

  13. As a UK millennial who grew up on the free Internet. Do not mess with the international hacker organisation known as 4chan. They do not forgive they do not forget and they will post memes of Keir starmers but hole.

  14. I’m worried the UK being moronic has opened the floodgates for US companies to start attacking UK/EU legislation more widely – i.e. if US Companies can ignore the Wank Licence, on the same basis will they ignore GDPR?

  15. I think that the UK has way overstepped the line with the OSA, but this is some of the stupidest shit I’ve ever read. Seriously?

  16. >The internet is a global system of communication between computer servers, located in data centers around the world.

I thought it was a series of tubes?

  17. Well, they’re bang on that Europe hasn’t built its own tech sector. We need to do that if we want to have true sovereignty

  18. It is kind of crazy that if eg. i put up a website, it technically has to simountainously abide by the laws of **every single country on earth**, i think that’s kinda ridiculous, and perhaps should only be a thing when they’re selling something or collecting user data.

  19. The world wide Web was made by a British man in a Swiss university. The current internet is more European than it is American. I disagree with the UK online safety act and the attack on US websites, but let’s be real here. This whole document just screams America number 1 and looks extremely unprofessional.

  20. Does it receive advertising or other revenue from the uk? If it does then it operates in the uk

  21. So now it’s officially confirmed the ‘owners’ of 4chan are just the same neckbearded delusional incels like their users? What a surprise
