  1. > While speaking on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore in 2016, Meghan referred to Trump, 79, as “divisive and misogynistic.”

    > Fast forward to the present day, Chang asked Meghan, “Are there things you’re dying to say or do right now but you feel like you can’t?”

    > “No, I just make a choice of what matters to me and what’s important to me,” the Suits actress replied. “And that was a different time in 2016, certainly.”

    > When pressed about her answer further, she replied, “I was excited to be on the show and I think if there’s anything that I wanted to say or that felt necessary to say, then I would say it, but that’s not where I’m at right now. I haven’t said anything since 2016. That was well before I met my husband too.”

  2. Isn’t it better not to indulge about Trump?? He will rant about anyone who criticises him forever and won’t let it go.

  3. This is my issue with her in a nutshell. When she was “constrained,” she desperately wanted to talk and express herself. Now she is free to do so, and she has nothing to say.

One would think, at the very least, she would talk about school shootings. But her privilege insulates her children from that reality, she has nothing to say about it.

I read one description of her as a “pantomine princess,” and I think that is accurate.

  4. > “That’s the sad irony of the last four years. I’ve advocated for so long for women to use their voice, and then, I was silent” Meghan Markle on Oprah.

    > “I was excited to be on the show and I think if there’s anything that I wanted to say or that felt necessary to say, then I would say it, but that’s not where I’m at right now. I haven’t said anything since 2016. That was well before I met my husband too.” Meghan Markle now

The narrative changes to support whatever narrative she’s peddling at the moment is crazy, she’s a feminist, a human rights activist being silenced when she needs to and she can be a diplomat and refuse to acknowledge any current issues when she needs to, one thing I always liked about her was what I assumed at the time was real passion for charity and activism, I now see it was just a PR strategy to get people to root for her. She used to say “stand in your truth” now she can only yap about authenticity while forgetting all her words about advocating for anyone who needs it, who she pretended to be until she got where she wanted to be.

  5. Meh. The Heritage Foundation (they of Project 2025) have been scheming to get Harry’s visa revoked since pretty much the moment they moved to Cali, probably in revenge for her Trump comments tbh, since Trump seems weirdly fond of the BRF aside from Meghan who he’s actually targeted specifically. I think she has a right to be a little cautious now that they’re ascendant again, and clearly just ignoring the law left and right.

  6. That’s the opposite of firing back.

I respected her and now fuck her. If she can’t speak against fascism she is useless

  7. She’s a POC married to an immigrant. She may be feeling afraid of the current regime. I understand we need courage at this time and we want to see it in our public figures but there are actual elected officials whose job it is to speak up who aren’t doing so…

  8. She never deserves the racism she receives but it’s weird she doesn’t stand for anything. She couldn’t even bring herself to endorse Kamala which would’ve been the bare minimum of activism.

  9. Well, she wouldn’t want to upset her MAGA friends!

It’s definitely…. interesting… how quick she was to speak on the fires in her hometown of LA in January but she’s got nothing to say about the way ICE has been terrorizing that same hometown.

Yes, I know Harry is not a citizen but like, let’s be real. Do you think Trump is going to deport Harry? (or ANY rich, white man?) That’s just a convenient excuse to not speak up about what’s happening.

  10. I don’t see her endorsing Trump or hid fascist regime in this article.

Yes she needs to speak up more but it seems in this day an age people tend to ask so much more of celebs then their actual politicians. As Bill Burr said celebs are just dancing monkeys, and we should be voting for actual politicians to speak up and fight Trump (you need to get him out the same way you got him in).

Also has anyone thought if how it would look for the wife of a UK royal (even a royal that has stepped away from royal duties) to speak politically? The US could see it as foreign interference and the UK would see it as a royal picking sides.

It’s embarrassingly clear that is another gotcha moment for the woman you hate. Some of you hate her more then Andrew (which is gross).

  11. America does not need Meghan Markle to make a statement about Donald J Trump. We are seeing an erosion of democratic institutions. Explicit federal targeting of vulnerable people/minorities. Troops invading our cities. Our economy being wrecked. Independent institutions being unfunded. Blatant gerrymandering of districts to reduce the competitiveness of our elections. Congressional allocated budgets being cut without approval from congress. Black leaders in power being fired or targeted for prosecution. LGBT being kicked out of the military and in any leadership role. And the list goes on.

We don’t need Meghan Markle. She understands that. What we need is Congress to act. We need a strong judiciary. We need people in power to push back. We need the public to care enough to take to the streets. There is nothing Meghan can say that would help us. The only thing that would happen is Meghan would be attacked for getting involved.

For the Americans in this thread complaining about Meghan. Are you doing your part?

  12. “And that was a different time in 2016, certainly.” Of course it was. Back then Trump hadn’t won the popular vote. Now that he did and has the associated legitimacy, she watches what she says to not alienate potential clients. Not to mention he can send Harry Boy back where he came from in the blink of an eye.

  13. Y’all, if Meghan is authentically anything it’s that she’s authentically a hypocrite. Lol. If anyone is surprised by this they haven’t been paying attention.

  14. I feel like people need to reread this part:

“Are there things you’re dying to say or do right now but you feel like you can’t?”

“No, I just make a choice of what matters to me and what’s important to me,” the Suits actress replied. “And that was a different time in 2016, certainly.”

As in, she flat out said that she isn’t being held back from sharing her thoughts and opinions, but she doesn’t currently find it important to focus or comment on. The degradation of a democracy and the denial of civil liberties within the country she calls home doesn’t really have a place on her mood board.

  15. I think people calling her a republican are being a little extreme. I think she’s just a standard capitalist.

I think if it was good for her brand, she’d be speaking out but in this political climate it could affect her bottom line so she’d rather not. So she like a lot of rich 1 percenters are happy to live in their delusional bubble where since they’re not directly impacted it doesn’t matter to them. Which is not a surprise I’m sure all those Hollywood celebs that endorsed Caruso are probably happy, they probably think the ICE raids are cleaning up the city and fixing their homelessness problem.

So as I said I don’t care if she does or does not speak out. However I do think you probably should stop talking about the time you were not allowed to be vocal and speak out about certain issues because people will validly ask what your being vocal about now without those constraints.

  16. Fought for her right to speak then has this to say 😭

  17. Can someone please call her father in law and apologize for the revolution and ask them to take us back? We’re very sorry, we made it work for 249 years but we’re ready to go home.

  18. No speaking out for Palestine… Check.

Invite Chrissy Tegan to her show? Check.

Back tracking on Trump criticism… Check.

whats next? Invite Candice Owens for dinner?

ETA: format and word correction even though the msg was understood

  19. Silence is cowardly in the face of fascism. I expected nothing less from a white passing ‘feminist’ from privilege. When someone says they don’t care, take their word for it.

  20. Delicious. I have always thought she sucked, and now she’s proving it.
