Pity this good soil can’t be used to grow nice fruit and vegetables that so much has to be imported.
I’m surprised how good our soil is tbh. Evidently we could easily switch to crop farming in large parts of the country if we wanted, unlike some people would have us believe.
I thought Limerick, North Cork, and South Tipp were meant to be a “golden vale” of good soil. Doesn’t look like it on the map

This feels a little too simple
The bogs in the midlands don’t seem to bring it down much?
I believe this map is actually a soil quality map for tree planting.
