Morning!

I’ve been trying my hand at a little traditional baking recently. I couldn’t find a relevant sub, so I’ve created /r/irishbaking.

I’m very much still learning, and would love to see some of you over there so we can share recipes, successes and failures together.

I think this is particularly useful on our island due to the oral nature of how family recipes tend to be passed down.

  1. Are you also setting up tasting panels so that we can properly judge

  2. R/irishbaking is a fantastic idea, just joined. Post the recipes though please 😛

  3. My quick go to for finding some Irish baking recipes is Odlums site. Some fantastic recipes with the proper ingredients and right measurements. Too often I find recipes online are versions made by Americans there’s always something wrong with them.

  4. Looks great but for those of us that can’t recognise it – what is it?

  5. Add a great wheaten in and a good potato farl recipe and that’s it, sub is complete.

Seriously though, thank you! As an Irishman living abroad I can get fuck all here of the best stuff, I’ve just started making my own. This sub is exactly what I need, joined.
