Who suffers with sanctions are the country population, that most of the times have do nothing wrong, are in no way responsible for the actions of government, especially in a dictatorship.
sanctions might be good to stop “madness” from one government, at what, expense of millions of citizens.
So, no, there must be other options, or especially some form of sanctions, like, armament, luxury goods, etc. Force the elite to not leave the country.
Not gonna lie. It was win win situation for Poland. They become Europeans savior right after the eu bullied them.
I hope Belarus will got Iran kind of sanctions and it will appear in international isolation.
I suspect that next move from Belarus would be aknowledging results of referendum in Crimea and that Crimea are now Russian territory.
Plus establishing of permanent Russian military base in Belarus near Kiev.
