I understand a lot of people crossing have family ties in the UK, but nowhere near all. We should make it less appealing for those people to travel through safe countries to come to the UK.

If this fails, she will just try again with another country who will take exported asylum seekers in exchange for money. Rwanda is nothing special to her, it was Ascension Island last year after all. What is to stop it being Mozambique or Guinea Bissau next? As long as she can send asylum seekers away and demonise them in the press, she will be happy and will not care where they end up and what the conditions are like.
Don’t forget this is the same Priti Patel that tried to get 3 British citizens extradited to India to face execution based on fabricated charges.
How does shipping them to Rwanda “break the traffickers business model”? Last time I checked people weren’t paying traffickers to get out of the UK (although give it a few years).
It seems like to me this whole policy is just to cause rifts between the govt, civil servants and lawyers. I wonder what they are trying to achieve, I suspect somehow reorganising the civil service so it’s politically aligned?
Google what we are doing over here in Australia. This is where Boris got the idea from .We put Asylum Seekers. Refugees. on Manus. and Nauru..the govt pays these poor countries Billions of dollars .( and of cause Aust companies set up shop there to provide “Services ” and the Govt pays them Millions ) .So all in all it costs over a Billion to house about 400 poor souls in misery for up to Ten years and counting.
BUT.. they tell us this will deter others from coming.

Actually i do, i work in retail and i deal with these people day in day out, and because we have issues with theft deal with local police, community offices etc so yes i do know what im talking about.

Google what the Govt in Australia has Asylum Seekers Refugees. put on remote islands Nauru and Manus .poor countries . but the Govt has given them Billions of Tax Dollars for their inconvenience having these poor souls put on them .Ans then Australian Companies are paid yet more Billions to provide so called services. thus making them rich. Yep ! great idea.
