  1. Yes, ordering “Mitraillete” (literally: machine gun) in a fries shop will get you this.

Sandwich with fries, meat and sauce.

Not exactly a staple of belgian cuisine, but it is commonly found here.

  2. The ideal food to end a night of drinking. Bread, spicey sauce , sausage , fries and absolutely no vegetables on top.

  3. look at how they butchered my boy!!!! This should be a mitrailette but this is … not a good one by the looks of it.

  4. I don’t think we usually eat this in the flemish region, but heard it’s more common in Wallonia i think 😁 and yes it’s called a machine gun 😁

  5. Those fries are undercooked and there’s not enough sauce but yes, I could recognize my precious Mitraillette.

  6. Given the comments here it seems to be a Begian dish, but I don’t know it, so I suspect that it’s only available on some parts of Belgium.

  7. Looks like a small one though…
In all the places I’ve been In Belgium and ordered a mitraillette, its usually the length of a half baguette, this one looks like it’s in a sandwich?
Also, a real frietkot doesn’t stop adding fries as soon as the bread is covered. Usually they keep on adding fries so you almost can’t the the bottom half of the bread.

The frietkot I usually visit has a bunch of different mitraillettes, with all kinds of ‘meat’.
They even got it with brochettes, they put in 2 giant brochettes, close the bread and pull out the ‘brochettestokskes’, open it back up, and add fries and sauce.

  8. A “mitraillette” or “routier” if you are from liège. The famous mitraillette belcanto – andalous – jupiler
