2. This stuff is way scarier than most people realize! If another pandemic starts we will have no warning and no infrastructure available to stop it, And Kennedy is so insane that him having access to hot labs or stored viruses is pretty frightening.

   Not to mention the psychopathic billionaires backing this administration would happily use a virus to reduce the population if they saw a benefit to themselves.

    Simultaneously, these systems of checks and balances benefit the most unfortunate. Many Americans will realize they fall into this group regardless of ‘how the feel’ or ‘what they’ve been told’.

    They ones who need it the most are the ones championing the legislation and the leadership enacting it.

    There’s no adults in the room that’s going to stall it at this point. The “game” where Democrats provide sensible alternatives that water down Republican insanity and then both groups get to say “we fought for you”, is over.

    If Evangelicals and their ilk want this they are also the ones that get to feel the inevitable results first.

20. The CDC did not spring out of the ground fully formed after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We built it. In living memory, even. We can rebuild what they’ve burned to the ground. All we need is public will pushing for it and our other institutions to be rebuilt.

    Its going to get worse before it gets better. But the important thing is for public outrage to keep building. Talk to anyone you can, and keep raising your voices to demand better than this!

23. I was talking about this earlier today. RFK is fundamentally different than most of the people in that administration.

    All of the other dickbags are people who believe the organizations they run have a mission. Many people would disagree with what they believe the mission is, but they believe the organizations have some role to play. Some reason to exist.

    Kash Patel believes that the FBI should exist. Hegseth believes that the DoD should exist (or renamed?). Pam Bondi believes the DOJ should exist. The fact that the guy running the CDC doesn’t believe in germ theory, or believe that the CDC should exist, Is fucking insane.
