I must have gotten complacent with my mushroom hunting because of the cold weather.
Ticks are the one thing that freak me out and I hear the diseases are a concern, especially where it got me in Munich. What should I do? Take it to get tested? Where would I do such a thing if so?

Did you get your FSME vaccine? If yes then you don’t have to do anything. If no then go to your GP maybe
Testing is not necessary as you wouldn‘t know if it infected you. Keep a close eye on the bite wound (red circle getting bigger->doc)and for flu like symptoms. Make sure to kill that bastard (they can survive flushing down the toilet). Are you vaccinated against fsme (don‘t know the english equivalent)?
Is that a tick? At this time of year?
First of all, make sure it’s dead. You can wrap it tightly in some kitchen paper or something and squeeze hard until you feel it pop, or put it in a little water with a drop of dish soap.
The site where it bit will probably itch for a day or two, and you might see some red marks. If after a week or so you see a clear ring around the site, get a doctor’s appointment as soon as you can; same if you start feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms. If you’re not sure, get an appointment anyway. This is especially important if you’re not currently vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis (which Germans know as “FSME”).

Do what a handsome man from Austria did 80 years ago.
Aside from FSME, you should also check when your last tetanus shot was and in case it’s been more than 10 years(afaik) get a booster shot.

Draw a circle around the bite mark so you can tell if there is any change in rednes/swelling etc!
Me and my gf got bit several times while out in the woods. She might’ve been sweeter cuz she got 10ish of them all around her waist. Pulled them out with tweezers. Nothing came after that. So i guess if you pulled it out properly and quite in time, you’d be ok.
It’s so fascinating that I’ve never encountered a tick in my entire life even though I was an outside kid.
Not living in southern Germany makes all the difference.

It is best to talk to your doctor. Tick bites do Not always cause a red rash. I saw a doctor took the tick with me. They can send it to be tested, also had blood work done. Lyme disease usually doesn’t show up in your blood stream for a few weeks. Good luck
Put it in a ziploc bag, mark it with the date removed, and freeze it. Then if you develop symptoms you can bring the culprit with you and it can be sent off for further tests.
Yeah I suppose this has already been answered but I’ve had once that I accidentally swiped away a tick and part of its body remained in my skin… I went to a GP who then told me to just keep an eye on it… Nothing actually happened but I’d say the same for you mate, maybe just go to a GP just to make sure, indeed if you see a red circle forming it’s pretty certain you’re infected. Though you pulled it off quite clean I see so that’s pretty good news! Just make your GP aware and off you go! I’ve had a lot of information about ticks at least… I’ve done some fieldwork as an ecologist before so… Yeah… Tick territory! Hahaha
Bite it back.
Don’t just pop and kill it! Wrap it in Tesa so it can’t escape and you can conserve it forever! 🙂
I’d send it to a doctor to get lab test for Lyme disease

In November? Holy damn. Didn’t even see one after August. My cats carried them around like crazy.
