Austria’s next central bank chief Martin Kocher, who will take office on Monday, said in an interview on Saturday he does not see himself as a hawk or a dove but will ensure price stability is central to all European Central Bank decisions.

“I believe the age of dividing things up this way (into hawks versus doves) is over. What matters is letting the facts speak for themselves. What matters is making the right move at the right time. The classification will come with time. I do not see myself as being in one of the two camps,” he told ORF radio.
