My city is holding a book fair event and I found this small stand with Estonian books. I’m looking for recommendations, preferably something related to Estonian history and culture 🙂

truth and justice is incredibly exciting and packed to the brim with action 😉
Both of the books by Kivirähk are great.
I dont see which Kivirähk’s books are available but I can see his name in the list. His “The Man who spoke Snakish” was really good and can personally recommend. Also Hargla’s “Apteeker Melchior” is fairly good and it got a movie just recently.
See that Apothecary Melchior book? It’s a detective story that takes place in medieval Tallinn (Reval). Might be interesting to you. A movie based on it just released in Estonia, but it’s not translated to English (yet).
I like Justine Petrone “my estonia” part 1 and 2. It is from american who fell in love with estonian girl and came to live in Estonia. It describes Estonia and estonians well with humor.
I would really suggest Jaan Kross’ “[Between Three Plagues](https://www.themodernnovel.org/europe/europe/estonia/kross/the-ropewalker/)”. It might be a bit of a slow read, but it’s a really nice historical novel
