A tango ice blast and a large cinema popcorn to my door? Why wouldn’t I want to do this?
To think we’ve spent a lifetime sneaking snacks into the cinema.
The only possible way you would do this is if the kid working at the Odeon also sold cocaine and your regular guy was in prison.
They barely put any sugar in the sweet popcorn!
Surely there can’t be a market for this? Who is ordering cinema snacks for delivery?
Imagine paying more than the cinema prices 😂
Imagine spending £15 for a bucket of popcorn delivered
Imagine the markup on the markup. A small popcorn and diet coke has got to be around 15-20 quid.
I would have absolutely done this when I was expecting my first kiddo. I had awful cravings for cinema popcorn. Thankfully they didn’t last too long!
Will my popcorn have staff’s faecal matter in it?
“Our Q3 profits are low, how do we remedy this?”
“…”
“Brian, make a Deliveroo poster in Word using clip-art and dust off the ol’ bubblejet”
You can buy the proper popcorn salt from Amazon btw – it’s called flavacol. Costs about a tenner for a kilo and you only need a fraction of a teaspoon per serving
A bag of popcorn and a can of drink delivered is probably about £26.99
I have never needed popcorn this badly. It is such a a low tier snack, and is IMMENSELY better made at home!
LOL imagine ordering UberEats for stale popcorn.
Movie night? I admit it seemed odd when i saw initially but its not really if you’re doing a movie session and want the usual snacks. But agree as mentioned you can probably get most things from a store delivered cheaper
Oh my sweet shitting Christ…
I can see the appeal of ordering their cinema hotdogs… difficult to replicate at home.
Odeons popcorn is stale and horrible why would anyone bee ordering from their already overpriced offerings.
“£18 for a litre of Pepsi Max and some cold popcorn? shut up and take my money”
Ohhhh! I know the answer to this…
My sister once really wanted a Tango Iceblast. The only place she could think of to get one was the cinema. So they went to the cinema, and bought one. Guy behind the counter told them to enjoy their film and they burst out laughing and explained they were only there for the Iceblast.
I found a self serve ice blast machine in a Morrisons daily in a village in Scotland earlier this year, so it looks like there may now be more options available than back then.
Would she have ordered one online, had it been an option when she did this? Knowing my sister… probably.
Some financial domination behaviour. Some ceo is tied up for sure.
Controversially, this has been a thing for years where I currently live (Kuwait).
This is the most idiotic use of the app lol
I mean cinema hotdogs are delicious but yeah it’d be like £20 after fees
Popcorn at the cinema is extortionate but it tastes better than anything in the microwave or from the supermarket bakery.
You can microwave better than cinema standard popcorn at home.
The fact this exists supports the theory that a significant proportion of people lie about their expenses when asked about their financial situation
Why are people still using these illegal immagration employers?
I’m ashamed to say I ordered an ice blast once, I was in dire need.
Their nacho cheese though
The only time I got theater popcorn for home was when I lived within walking distance of a theater, nothing from the movies will travel well in an uber
bruh is collection only im pretty sure ur aint getting shit delivered
I updated my Just Eats app just to see. It’s true! Here’s some screengrabs – Would you like to spend [€8.25 on popcorn?](https://i.imgur.com/F3Tiz8l.jpeg) Or how about €4.70 for a 93g bag of Maltesers, which are [3 FOR A FIVER in Tesco?](https://i.imgur.com/zRz4yfa.jpeg)
I used to work in a cinema around 2010 and can think of two people would semi-regularly come in just to buy popcorn and some other snacks as they were having a movie night at home.
One of the guys was the father of a friend of mine so I asked him why as we just bought it in big bags so it wasn’t exactly fresh. He just said he preferred the taste and it added a bit of excitement coming home with the proper cinema boxes. Fair enough.
I worked at odeon from 2022-2024 in Hatfield. There would be occasionally 1-2 orders on a regular day and a couple more on the weekends. It was stupid to see the amount of money people were wasting. WHY WOULD YOU ORDER SLUSHIES IN SUMMER TO YOUR HOME FROM ODEON?? That thing would no way even be the same by the time it got to them. Some other orders that never made sense were those of the chocolate bags that you’d probably find in any shop around your house.
