It's just a picture of father and son. Sergeant Alojzy Piórkowski (41 years old) and his 14-year-old son Ferdynand are collecting wood in the mountains along the Gothic Line in 1944. Both served in the 3rd Machine Gun Battalion of the 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division (Polish II Corps).
They survived the war and returned to Poland.
