Tbh I have never heard of them being a thing and I am German
I did not know, Halloren still exists. I liked ‘Hallorenkugeln’ very much in my childhood 40 years ago.
Have not seen them in supermarktes for ages.
Not my thing my grandma liked the Eierlikör ones though
The stracciatella and lemon buttermilk ones are nice.
They had (or maybe still have) one with brownie. Over the top Sweet, but good!
Is this a very new or an old product? I’ve never seen it. 🤷🏽♀️
I love Waldmeister but it’s not often available
Our favorite!! My kids love them more than milka or ritter sport. I like the caramel, the kids like the Erdbeer
I like the du-bye ones, yummy.
The eggnog one sounds good
I like classic most.
But my favorite chocolate is of the brand Rotstern called Chokis. Little animal figures. ☺️
Lemon-Buttermilk, Sea salt & caramel & Brownie Mint are my favourites.
In Halle an der Saale one can visit parts of the factory, the praline lab, the factory outlet shop (which used to offer the majority of their products as free samples) and a small cafe. The outlet shop sells quite a lot of products the company produces under different brand names as well.
good stuff imo, i’d go with the straciatella i think
In case you didn’t already know, the Halloren Chocolate Factory is the oldest chocolate factory in Germany (founded at some time prior to 1804). It was originally named after the founder, Friedrich Miethe, then was taken over and renamed for Friedrich David, then the Nazis renamed it to “Mignon” after one of its products because David sounded too Jewish. After the war, as it was located in Halle (Saale), it was nationalized by the East German government. It developed the famous “Halloren-Kugeln” named for the Halloren, people who worked in the local saltworks, and then renamed the company.
It’s one of the few East German brands to have survived reunification. The main HQ is still in Halle: it has a chocolate museum that includes, among other things, a life-sized room made entirely of chocolate, and a gallery where you can see right into the factory itself.
Herr Doktor, Herr Doktor ich habe drei Kugeln im Bauch! Ja wie kommen die den da hin? Na von Halloren! 😅
The brownie ones are amazing. I also like the cookie dough. I loaded up when I want to Dresden. They also make a really great hot chocolate powder.
I don’t like them at all. They just taste like sugar and fat. And the flavored ones have a very artificial and cheap taste. They’re just bad.
Stracciatella and classic, stored in the fridge or freezer and eaten cold.
love them so much might stay in Germany just for these
I personally like them a lot, but I come from around where they’re made. They were always a staple in our house. I know many don’t quite like them. stracciatella are pretty good.
Love this! Absolute all flavours are great! I’m able to multiple boxes in one sitting, absolutely addictive!
