New Delhi: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced changes to the match timings for the upcoming DP World Asia Cup 2025. The tournament will be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28. As per the new schedule, 18 of the total 19 matches will start at 6:30 PM Gulf Standard Time (GST) or 8:00 PM Indian Standard Time (IST). Only one match, the UAE and Oman match on September 15, will be played at 4:00 PM GST (5:30 PM IST) during the day. The change is aimed at avoiding the intense summer heat of Dubai and ensuring a better evening experience for fans.
Weather and spectator experience focus
The new timetable aims not only to avoid the extreme heat of Dubai but also to maximise primetime viewership in South Asian countries. Along with this, fans will be able to enjoy the match by sitting in the stadium during the cooler hours of the evening. This change has been implemented in coordination with TV broadcast and venue partners.
Group of teams and format
A total of eight teams will participate in the Asia Cup 2025, which are divided into two groups.
Group A: India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman
Group B: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong
Each team will play one match against the other teams in its group. The top two teams from each group will enter the Super 4 stage. In the Super 4, each team will face the other three teams, and the top two teams will reach the final.

The Super 4 stage will start after the group stage. In this stage, each team will face the other three teams. This stage will prove to be decisive for the strength of the teams and their strategy to reach the final. The final will be played on Sunday, September 28 in Dubai, and the reserve day is scheduled for Monday, September 29.

The timings of all matches from the group stage to the final are given in IST. Most of the matches will start at 8:00 PM, while only the UAE vs Oman match will be played at 5:30 PM IST. Such timing is considered favourable for both the performance of the players and the audience experience.
