It's the last day of August, September tomorrow, so summer's almost over and autumn is on its way. Tell us what you're going to be doing on this fine day.

  1. Getting the boy out early for some exercise before the rain arrives, then getting him to help me with a new PAX wardrobe in his bedroom. If we survive that, I’ll order a curry.

So, the most mundane Sunday I can think of.

  2. I’m actually going to the place in the title image.

  3. That image makes me want to live in a lighthouse. I mean I already wanted to but it’s just reinforced that want a little bit more.

  4. I’m off to a 5 star spa hotel for a pre-uni starting again/my boss getting back from holiday treat. I’ve got a facial booked at 1pm, then I’m going to bob around in the pool. I’ve got a 3 course dinner booked this evening and I plan on having a couple of cocktails first. Then in the morning I’m going to have a late breakfast before heading for a massage before I come home. I am very excited.

  5. Off to Makro shortly to stock up on some bulk items, then last few bits of DIY, as well as making a ragù for freezing and spare ribs for dinner.

If I get time, washing and changing the bedding as well.

  6. Well we had an offer accepted on a house yesterday so most of the day was spent in a haze of adulting, meaning that today we have the shopping to get, laundry to put away, and I need to feed the feathered piranhas known as Starlings that do their best to bankrupt me with the amount they eat

  7. Absolute return to work dread for tomorrow.

I haven’t organised my day yet. The list is impossibly long. Sorting kit for work tomorrow, putting up curtains, returning incorrect curtains, need to drive the Cayman that’s been sitting a month (curtain return trip?) organize furniture after decorating, batch cook some evening meals for next week, mow lawns, trim hedges (like 200m of 3m high hedges, check over my bike before the commute, walk the dogs. Oh yeah the family car needs an oil change.

I’m going to try and make time for the F1 even though i.susoect it will be a dull race.

  8. Here’s a sentence 10 years ago me would never have said. Going to a garden centre I’ve always driven past but never been into

  9. Deciding what to do currently staying in Southampton but the weathers ropey, Sea City museum or Avon beach. Or head to Milford to see family.

  10. Signed up for a 7 mile walk this afternoon. Woke up yesterday morning realising I haven’t walked that far in ages so I went on a 6 mile walk to get into the swing of it. Regretting both decisions this morning.

  11. I’ve decided I’m going to completely gut out my garden office and build a workbench and some storage shelves.

So I might fire up SketchUp and do some designs.

  12. Been out for a walk, seen my “not my cat” cats, about to go out on the bike. Then I have to take my daughter to get some pyjamas after we’ve heard her piece on the local radio, then back home for housework, gardening and nagging my son into sorting stuff out for uni. He leaves the weekend after next and he’s done nothing towards getting ready for it. I’m not doing it for him. He’s an adult and can do it himself.

  13. Trying to get myself to get up as I’ll need to leave soon for the second last Cricket match of the season if it’s not cancelled due to rain. It’s also the last day of the holidays as well, so it’s back to work again tomorrow after 5 and a bit weeks off.

  14. 20 mile race today. Kinda nervous, but I’ve been doing increasingly longer runs as part of marathon training so it should just be the same (but a little longer).

Got my soundtrack lined up and downloaded – I should hopefully finish a few songs into Lateralus by Tool! Danny Carey’s drumming is going the carry me the last few miles.

  15. Funnily enough I’m going to St Mary’s Lighthouse (pictured) with my daughter this morning.

I’m also seeing Jaws at the cinema this afternoon

  16. Last year around this time a boy on my sons rugby team was diagnosed with cancer. We had charity events to raise money for the family as a team and today is his “cancer free” rugby match where he’s going to coach the team and we’re gonna celebrate his cancer free status. The team they are playing also did some charity fundraising for the boy so today is a day of fun and celebration.

  17. We’ve got a lazy day planned – going to make buttermilk chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, then bar the odd bit of housework (dishwasher, sorting some laundry) we’re going to spend the day playing Ticket to Ride Legacy. It’s our wedding anniversary tomorrow so we gave ourselves a weekend off from life to just relax, play games and drink cocktails.

  18. The first tints of autumn are already showing early on some trees so we’re going for a four mile walk round the local lanes to enjoy it.

  19. Happy Sunday folks!

It’s another sunny day where I am. I stayed up late last night watching Dexter: Resurrection and would definitely recommend it.

Feeling a bit sad today as it’s the last day of August and it feels like summer is over.

Today I’m planning to read, listen to some podcasts, maybe get a haircut if the barber is open, do some baking, watch more Dexter, and possibly play on the PS5. All depends on what my mum, dad and sister want to do. We may end up going out.

Hopefully all that and a few other non-work activities will help me switch off, as I really don’t get paid to work & worry on weekends.

This evening plan not up to much but plan to get to bed early

  20. Going to emulate yesterday’s semi productive day I think. Off to the gym soon, looks nice out so I’ll cycle. There’s a couple of internal job opportunities up so I’ll work some more on the applications for those after. Followed by a bit of housework and a couple hours on the PlayStation.

Then this evening a film; after discovering Disney plus has a huge number of classic 90s films, I watched The Rock on Friday and Con Air last night so it seems fitting to round the weekend off with a third Cage Classic: Face Off.

  21. Happy Sunday!

French toast made and consumed (with lashings of dulce de leche). Washing on the line while it’s sunny this morning.

    Lazy afternoon ahead.

  22. Quick tidy up of the flat after this drink and scrolling time then as the weathers nice here in Yorkshire out for a drive to find some breakfast. This afternoon I might fit my new car stereo but I might also take my book to the seafront and have a few beers

  23. I start my new job on Monday so taking it easy today. My son rode a bike without stabilisers for the first time yesterday so we’ve been pedaling about for the past hour. The rest of the day looks something like this:
-pop to B&Q for some bits
    -take dog for a walk
    -drink coffee
    -Paint Warhammer
    Have a good day everyone!

  24. Heading to airport today for flight tomorrow.

    16 long hours.

  25. Back to work tomorrow after six weeks off, taking the Dogs along the River, before watching Lord of the Rings with this missus, and cooking a whole Duck with Pancakes.

  26. Chilling at home and packing for my trip to the UK tomorrow! I’ve been looking forward to this trip for months! Got an early start tomorrow morning so will be an early night tonight.

  27. Coffee and breakfast, it’s quite windy snd will fly a kite on the beach! Maybe head to the pub a for a pint then cooking a long slow roast!

  28. Already taken the dog for a walk, got some washing out and about to start pottering about doing some cleaning. Afternoon will either be ironing or helping daughter strip wallpaper – not sure which is the lesser of 2 evils there!

  29. My local cinema is running a 50th year anniversary of the classic film Jaws this weekend in 3D. From what I’ve read, it’s meant to be great so I’m looking forward to it. It’s been years since I watched a film in 3D.

It turns out there’s a Wingstop close by. My partner has been raving about their chicken wings for ages telling me how much I’d love it.

The plan is to chow down on as many different flavoured chicken wings as humanly possible before sitting my ass down in front of the cinema.

    Bliss.

  30. Sunday means Monday tomorrow. Fml already got the blues.

    Fuck this shit.

I’m hungry but I cba to get up.

    I’m lazy.
