On August 30, the occupied city of Simferopol was struck by a drone attack on the airport, resulting in the destruction of two Russian combat helicopters – Mi-8 and Mi-24, according to AviVector’s analytical sources.
According to OSINT investigators, the confirmation is provided by satellite images taken on August 30 at 09:02 UTC. The images show a fire in the area where the helicopters were based near the airfield.
On the day of the attack, monitoring resources also recorded drones moving toward the occupied city and an explosion on its outskirts, indicating active fighting in the region.
So far, there have been no official comments from Ukrainian and Russian authorities.
