LPT: There are few swimming pools in Arizona, because that little sign next to the hot tubs that says “Never spend more than 15 minutes in water over 105oF” does not have a companion sign that says “[30 seconds in water over 115oF produces burns that require hospitalization](https://www.healthline.com/health/boiling-water-burn#side-effects).”

2. In school we had a teacher that drilled “proximate cause” vs “ultimate cause” into us.  The heat deaths happen so fast, but have also been brewing for 50 years.  We’ve all known this is coming, we’ve been fearing it.  And it has a lot of worse to get. We need to stop burning fossil fuels into the atmosphere.
