British taxpayers are so generous 🙄
Surely it’s more cost effective to build the equivalent of say a travel lodge setup? Loads of rooms with perfectly acceptable facilities, that aren’t going to (rightly) anger residents and the population who see this optically as the government giving preferential treatment.
The Daily Heil
Serco, now there’s a company that knows how to make money from the tax payer.
Want some caviar too?
>It is believed thus far only one family has moved into the townhouses, and that they arrived by a legal route not by a small boat.
This is such the easy option . I am appalled. Loving the effloresence on the brickwork.
Thank God they’re not in a barely-used, run-down Travelodge any more though, right?
And they still question why people are angry.
You get a tent in Calais and a £300k town house in the UK. It would boil my piss if it hadn’t evaporated already!
This will be legal migration namely Afghani resettlement, FYI. But many of these will be offered social housing, English lessons, financial support in addition to the house. Assume also Ukrainian resettlement.
“Are given” bit of a stretch, they dont own the fucking homes
Your daily reminder that the Tories two prong approach to “save money” ensured this eventuality:
1. Closed down the state run centres for housing asylum seekers awaiting processing.
2. Decimated the staff that actually do the processing.
You’ll be surprised the hear that neither saves money, and both just mean that we have to pay to house people privately in hotels and housing, and they have to stay there longer, costing more.
Then the Daily Heil and all the other right wing gutter press in this country, owned and run by non-dom billionaires who don’t even pay their taxes, can loudly complain about where our taxes are going.
This isn’t a secret, it’s not a conspiracy. It’s a bunch of cunts building and using wedge issues to incite hate and fear in the populous so they don’t notice that the rich are stealing all their assets.
I just want to point out this works out at £400 a month per bedroom and the hotels are charging FIVE GRAND
also only one family have moved in who came here legally and not by boat (perhaps Ukrainians?)
It says legal route. I have complained as they are clearly fueling a fire and need to be held to account.
‘It is believed thus far only one family has moved into the townhouses, and that they arrived by a legal route not by a small boat.’
Did it bait you? Are you raged
They’re not being given them, they’re being housed in them.
Notice how they said asylum seekers, they tend to use a few of these words interchangeably, the daily mail is a pile of shit, for boomers to feel justified for being twats.
Bring back the tower blocks
So Serco is charging the taxpayers for this?
Wonder how much we are being g scammed for?
Alt headline “Asylum seeker housing has heating and bathrooms”
>Instead the houses have been leased by public services firm Serco under a contract with the Home Office.
>It is believed thus far only one family has moved into the townhouses, and that they arrived by a legal route not by a small boat.
This related to 4 properties, only one of which has been occupied.
If you’re falling for this, you need help.
