The actual Blackpool illuminations are actually pretty cool. Not seen them since I was a kid but I still remember them fondly. My grandpa lived in Blackpool so we would visit from time to time. I remember loving the beach, the tower and the pleasure beach theme park. I expect, like all cities, there are bad parts but my memories of Blackpool are very positive.
My dad literally says this EVERY DAM DAY 🤣
The other one:
Door is open for more than 2 seconds in the winter….”we’re heating up the neighbourhood are we?”
This me now
Every time he heard the word “Diwali” my Dad would say “It’s the festival of lights every night in our house”.
My parents used to say ‘its like bloody Broadway up here’, my wife’s used to say Wembley Stadium. Now I’m a dad I say either at every opportunity, it’s such a fun thing to rant about.
