  1. Do we know anything about these people? The people themselves, not their digital actions. It’s fascinating to me how much power is wielded by such a few individuals who only use it for (relatively) mundane things.

  2. So they intend to let people mod only a handful of subs at a time? Huh. Reddit might be get interesting…

  3. Calling it now: mods like this are power hungry and will absolutely just make a bunch of alts and pass moderation off to these alts before the change happens. We’ll see more names in mod lists, but the number of people won’t change.

  4. What I got from this:

    I’m a Reddit fossil.

I don’t recognize any of these mods.

I have more karma than a lot of them.

  5. Wait what, There’s people moderating dozens of subs at the same time. That’s crazy! I feel like one would be hard Enough to manage given their size sometimes.
You should only be allowed to moderate 1 or 2 at a time.

  6. I can with certainty say that these people are the lowest of low among human kind and they’ll definitely just make 20 alts and divvy up the modding to those alts so they can spread their agenda.

  7. When I was small and my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I was big, I said Reddit Powermod. For free.

  8. This image is going to end up in someones slidedeck at Eglin Air Force Base. I guarantee it!

  9. So what’s the story with these accounts? Are they:
    1. Accounts operated by multiple people?
    2. Getting paid some way or another?
    3. Absolute turbo-virgins?

  10. Arguments can be easily made about why powermods shouldn’t exist on the website, but that’s not why Reddit Inc is doing what they’re doing. Powermods are a risk to Reddit Inc because they have greater potential to galvanize large portions of their userbase against them, such as in the unsuccessful — but still impactful — API blackouts. Make no mistake, this isn’t Reddit trying to make the site more democratized or equitable. This is the king dividing up the nation and cutting down lords to maintain their grip on power.

  11. Imagine modding 70+ subs. Do they just sit in a basement all day all night?

  12. It’s not weird this post has mad comments and not even that many upvotes

  13. Hahaha, I bet this is basically Armageddon to some of those folks. Sweet, sweet tears.

  14. I would have inverted the stack, it would have shown the loss more intuitively IMO

  15. What is even more worrying is the idea that some or even many of these mods are intelligence agents or handled by such, promoting specific disinformation or fighting propaganda battles.

There’s zero chance that the “superpowers” intelligence agencies would not recruit and manage Reddit mods, or install their own. Think CIA, Mossad, Mi6, FSB, Iranian, Pakistan, Chinese intelligence etc.

Having levers of power over the dissemination of information on Reddit would be a very basic activity for all of them.

  16. this chart is not well made.. putting lose at the end of the chart with the blue part which is the only part that they don’t lose… the blue says total subs but you could argue it only visualizes the subs they keep…

    not beautiful

  17. Damn it, I wanted to see awkwardtheturtle suffer

Edit: Nevermind, that pos got perma banned 2 years ago.

    Karma is a bitch.

  18. Can someone ban all the mods on r/pics

They have turned it into a left wing lint trap

  19. “Fertility18” sounds like a pretty suspicious username.
