3. Thing is he’s partially correct, increased detection of the crime does mean police are getting better at spotting and catching people in the act .

   1. What counts and gets recorded as knife crime has broadened a lot.

   3. Hospital admissions are actually quite a good metric for serious violent crime. Because it’s looking at the number of youths getting stabbed up bad enough to need hospital treatment. Not every scratch/butter knife/Tiktok flex.

He also publicly sided with the Chris Kaba and his family purely on skin colour and nothing else when Chris was shot dead while trying to run multiple Police officers over with his car, when days earlier he was the prime suspect for a shooting. Kaba was a career gangster with a list of violent offences. Mayor Kahn jumped on the white knight band wagon defending him, what a tool.

13. So, people should really *not* read the Express for obvious reasons, or give a rats arse about what that biased, sensationalist, poitically charged rag prints. Make your society better by binning the Express, I say!

    As for facts: the Greater London Authority reports a 30% reduction in knife‑crime injuries among under‑25s, contrasting with a 13% national increase; overall knife‑crime rose only 0.7% in London, “negligible” compared to elsewhere. So that’s positive.

    Of course, London still has the highest rate of knife crime, but the rise steep rise is nationwide, so unlikely something that Khan has had influence over. And then we can look at whether knife crime in London increased in line with the nation, and it’s a mixed bag. And obviously, this is a tricky thing to measure, because, you’d think, there’s a saturation level with knife crime – it won’t increase lineraly.

    All in all, there’s some positive news in that. Cautiously!

    I’m not a Labour voter, but I do care a bit more about the truth than the average person. There’s no need to claim that Khan is doing a bad job – and people in London know that too.

    As for Suzi Hall, the woman previously caught lying about her own experiences with crime (or alleged crime), she’s a certifiable moron. I’ve met her – I wouldn’t trust her to know how to tie her own shoes. Parroting stupidity is her game – she’s giving the Tories a bad name, as much as this is hardly possible these days.
