The Mieterverband email on this urged to use the calculator and cautioned that if you challenge the rent due to the rate and the landlord reduces the rent due to the rate, they are also allowed to “correct” the rent due to inflation and other raising costs. The way I interpreted it was that it’s a risky thing to do unless there’s a fair bit of money to be saved, and no likelihood of the landlord being able to hike the rents a lot due to other risen costs.

10. ich bin am 1. Januar mit einer Mindestvertragsdauer von einem Jahr eingezogen. Danach läuft’s aus unbestimmte Zeit weiter. Ich kann also unter normalen Umständen nicht kündigen.

    Habe ich bereits anrecht auf eine Reduktion oder ist die Reduktion dann ab 01.01.26 gültig, aufgrund der Mindestvertragsdauer?
